Darwen shopkeeper attacked for second time in two weeks

A MUSIC teacher has been robbed for the second time in two weeks in Darwen town centre.

Tracy Frankcom, 40, was approached shortly after 7pm yesterday just after locking up the Arietta music shop in Bridge Street.

As she got to her car, which was parked on a car park in Bath Street, she was approached by a man who had a knife.

He grabbed her and the pair struggled, during which she received a cut to her hand. The man then made off.

It is believed the same man, along with an accomplice, attacked Ms Frankcom at around 9.10pm on Wednesday, October 20.

Police have released an e-fit of a man they want to speak to in connection with the incidents.

Inspector Mark Winstanley said: “This lady has been left incredibly shaken after being targeted for the second time in two weeks and is at a complete loss as to why somebody would do this to her.

“We believe that the same person was involved in both incidents and it is really important that we catch him as soon as possible.

Anybody with any information can contact police on 08451 25 35 45 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

It's rare for the same robber to target the same victim in such a short period of time.

Someone in the town must know who has done this, and as Ian above has said - re-publish the photograph of the suspect!!!!

This poor woman must have been traumatised enough after the first incident, this is just unheard of in Darwen and she must be devastated.

I wish her well, and lets hope this person is quickly caught, hauled before the courts and handed the correct custodial sentence as he clearly has no remorse for the first crime...

In fact, I'd take my initial suggestion a stage further.
The police should flypost (not sure that's the right word, but it will do) the picture on lampposts and notice boards, mainly around, but not confined to,, the town centre, wherever a lot of people pass by, say the Health Centre and so on.

It's got to be more useful to all of us than the "Missing Cat, answers to..." posters.

Even if he's from out of town somebody will recognise him.

Having said that, I also notice the lack of any police advice as to what to do if you think you have seen him (them?), obviously we do not need any injured or dead heroes.

Let's get it so that his face is at least more familiar than our local MP.

It is Meerkat.com and we have helped the Police by giving CCTV footage of the area we cover.

Hopefully it will help in catching the people involved!

Well many people have already recognised this man's face(he is well known in the area to the police and the public) and reported it to the police! Hopefully he will be behind bars soon. About time they locked this scum bag away!!!

I would like to thank everyone who has been so supportive during these horrendous 2 weeks. Just to clarify an error by the newspaper... the second attack wasn't a robbery - the person in question said I had "humiliated" him after the first attack (obviously by publishing his picture) - his words, not mine - and so the second attack was an evil revenge attack, nothing less. As a result, I am obviously terrified that he could strike again. I have had to surgery after this attack as he cut through the tendons in my hand, which could jeopardise my career as a musician. I dread to think what he might try next. If anyone has any info please, please contact the police. Tracy.
