A RADCLIFFE man has been taken to hospital after contracting Legionnaires' disease at a nursing home.
The man was taken from Rose Court nursing home to Fairfield Hospital, Bury, on Monday.
The Health Protection Agency (HPA) said it was an isolated incident.
Dr Lorraine Lighton, a consultant in communicable disease control at the HPA in Greater Manchester, said there was no evidence of any risk to residents.
It is understood that the bacteria did not come from water systems at the home.
The HPA will monitor the home for the next few weeks as a precautionary measure.
