THE RAMSBOTTOM, Tottington and North Manor area board will have 10 compost bins to give away at its next meeting.

Residents attending the meeting will have a chance to win one of the bins and will be entered into a draw.

A member of the waste management team will explain how to make the best use of the bins.

Chief Superintendent David Anthony will be on hand to introduce himself to residents and to hear about concerns.

There will also be a brief presentation by firefighters who operate from Ramsbottom Fire Station to introduce themselves and explain how they work.

And there will be an open forum where people can bring up any issues of concern.

There will also be reports from highways, police and the area co-ordinator.

Area board chair Coun Yvonne Wright, said: "It is hoped that we can visit different venues to give residents from all over the area a chance to come to a meeting relatively close to home.

"With so much going on we hope to see as many people as possible, as always, everyone will be made most welcome."

The meeting will be held at Elton High School, Walshaw Road, Bury, on Tuesday, July 18 and starts at 7pm.
