With the school summer holidays just around the corner, Lancashire Constabulary are planning to take to the sky to keep an eye on schools.
Operation Caretaker will involve using the police helicopter to carry out spot checks around the county's schools to check for vandalism, burglary, arson and anti social behaviour.
Inspector Andy Moore said: "The helicopter will keep a watchful eye over schools, particularly in the areas not easily patrolled from the ground."
