POP band McFly took a break from recording their new album in Atlanta to entertain thousands of fans at Haigh Hall last night.

The event was part of Wigan Leisure and Culture Trust’s Tuned-In concerts, which will also see Ronan Keating, Katherine Jenkins and girl group The Saturdays play at the historic hall this week.

The band, including former Thornleigh Salesian College pupil Danny Jones, have been relatively quiet on the music scene since leaving their major label to release albums through their own Super Records.

But the absence only made fans’ hearts fonder as they cheered on the band who have had top 10 hits with singles including Five Colours In Her Hair, Obviously and It’s All About You.

Boyband The Wanted, featuring another Bolton boy, Tom Parker, have been confirmed as support act for The Saturdays, on Thursday.
