A VICTORIAN building in the heart of Darwen will be given a facelift if plans are given the green light.
A&M Bargains, in Railway Road, is a former Wesleyan Chapel built in 1865. It has been stripped out internally and is now converted into a bargain supermarket.
The proposal, under Blackburn with Darwen Council’s £2million Townscape Heritage Initiative (THI) scheme, is to bring the roof, detailing of the gutter and outlets, stonework, windows, front facade, perimetre walls and railings back to their original best.
