In support of Cancer Research UK’s Race for Life 2010 series which kicked off at the beginning of May, Sony Music is releasing a charity album – which is entirely comprised by tracks voted through a special playlist initiative.

Race for Life supporters have been voting for their favourite tracks from a playlist of 100 songs that were live earlier this month on Spotify and the Tesco Entertainment website. The wait is finally over, the votes have been counted and we can now reveal the Top 40 tracks that will feature on the ‘Race for Life 2010’ soundtrack.

The soundtrack includes a mix of feel good hits including Race for Life’s first charity single - a re-record of Cyndi Lauper’s 80’s classic ‘Girls Just Want to Have Fun’, ‘She’s So Lovely’ by one of Britain’s favourite pop bands Scouting For Girls, ‘Brown Eyed Girl’ by Van Morrison and ‘Wake Me Up Before You Go Go’ by 80’s pop duo Wham!. It’s the perfect soundtrack to help you prepare for your Race for Life event.

The album will retail at £5.00 at 283 Tesco stores nationwide and 50p from the sale of each album will go towards Cancer Research UK’s lifesaving work.

Newsquest Northwest has joined forces with Cancer Research UK to promote this competition. Our lucky readers have the chance to win one of three copies of the Race for Life 2010 soundtrack in this easy to enter giveaway.
