TWO men are facing a total of seven years in jail for a ‘drunken prank’ which resulted in robbery.

Kevin Duxbury, 24, of Cherry Tree Guest House, Islington, Blackburn was jailed for three years and Mark Holden, 40, of no fixed abode was jailed for four years after pleading guilty to burglary and robbery.

After a drinking binge on New Year’s Eve, they broke into the room of another resident at the Cherry Tree Guest House in the early hours of January 1.

They threatened the resident, a 42-year-old man, who had been asleep, before leaving the room with his jacket and cash.

They then broke into another room and stole a DVD player, computer console and games before leaving later that day.

However, both men were identified after police recovered CCTV from the Guest House.

Sergeant Mark Cruise said: “What ultimately may have started out as a drunken prank, has resulted in the pair now having to spend some time in jail to reflect on their stupidity.”
