A NEW scheme has been launched in the borough to help firms create more jobs and boost the local economy.
The council's regeneration unit has launched its Business Support Initiative and is offering up to £30,000 to each applicant.
The man responsible for the borough's economy today urged businesses to apply for the money to help improve Pendle.
Executive member for economic development, Councillor Alan Buck said: "It really shows that business in Pendle has a real confidence in the future.
"They have a desire to expand, create more jobs for local people and bring more money into the local economy''.
"This valuable support for our local businesses will enable them to invest in the future.
"So we encourage companies to come and talk to us about their plans."
