TRANSPORT police are hunting this pervert after he committed an act outraging public decency' on a Nelson woman as she travelled by train.

The victim, a woman in her twenties, got on the 3.50pm Leeds to Blackpool train on Friday, May 26, at York.

When she got on the train, at about 5.10pm, the offender also got on and sat opposite her in a carriage.

Police said the incident happened some time on the train between York and Burnley.

Police have refused to release full details of the act, but the woman left the train at Burnley and reported the incident to police.

The offender is believed to have stayed on the train which carried on to Blackpool.

Officers have now released this E-fit of the man in a bid to find witnesses who can help catch him.

PC David Hewetson, of British Transport Police, is investigating the incident, and said today. "We are appealing for anyone who may recognise this man from the E-fit, or the description given, to come forward.

"This incident was extremely distressing for the victim.

"I am particularly appealing to passengers who regularly use this route, from Leeds to Blackburn, and who may recognise this man."

The offender is in his mid-thirties, of medium build, with a pale complexion and a shaved head. He was wearing a sheepskin-style jacket, a grey T-shirt and black jeans. He spoke with a northern accent.
