A WORKER stole almost £4,000 from his bosses.
Simon Anthony Rooney, 22, helped himself to the cash over five months, Burnley magistrates had earlier heard.
Rooney, of Briercliffe Road, Burnley, admitted eight theft charges between last September and February.
He was given a 200-hour community order, and must pay £2,000 compensation.
The bench told Rooney they had not jailed him as he had pleaded guilty, and helped the police.
The court heard Rooney worked for Floor Care Services and took £3,682 from his employers.
He effectively used a refund system, crediting his account and debiting the firm's account.
