A NEW scheme to encourage community sprit and recognise unsung heroes has been launched in Burnley.
The Good Neighbour' project, which covers South West Burnley, will offer prizes to people who make a difference to their local area.
The scheme has been organised by the South West Burnley Community Centre (SWBCC) with the backing of manufacturing firm Ewbank.
Chief officer of the community centre Christine Lauder said: "The scheme is aimed at encouraging community spirit and bringing recognition to the area's best neighbours - the people who make a positive difference to other peoples' lives and are the unsung heroes of the community."
