A Lancashire Euro-MP has been nominated for a prestigious award by the Worldwide Fund for Nature.
The organisation says that over the past year Chris Davies has been the most important individual MEP for building parliamentary majorities in favour of strong environmental legislation.
Parliament Magazine's MEP Awards acknowledge and celebrate the work of MEPs within seven categories.
Nominations have been made by organisations across Europe for MEPs who have made an outstanding achievement in various policy areas.
Mr Davies said: "Concern about the damage we are doing to our environment got me interested in politics when I was 16 years old.
"To say that I am proud to have been nominated for this award would be an understatement."
Three MEPs will be shortlisted in each category and awards will be presented in Brussels in October.
