A PENDLE-based firm which organises one of the biggest events in the borough's calendar has expanded.
Pennine Events Ltd has taken over another events and management company, Healthstart.
The two firms have previously worked together and decided to pool their knowledge.
Mark Sandamas, Director of Pennine Events, which will retain its name, said: "We'd already been working together over the past couple of years on a number of high profile and mass participation events in the region and both see this as the ideal way forward".
The firm will now be responsible for the award-winning Mersey River Festival and the Liverpool to Chester Cycle ride one of the biggest in the region.
Pennine Events runs the Pendle Cycle Festival which was officially launched this week as well as Manchester Bike Week and Show and the Yorkshire Tour cycling race.
