A THIEF stole spirits worth almost £450 after raiding a Colne restaurant.
Burnley magistrates heard how Mark Morton, 29, got into Carlos via a disused door and then smashed his way through a plasterboard wall.
Jobless Morton, who then went home with his haul also stole a car stereo from a vehicle in Duke Street, two weeks later.
Morton, of Hawley Street, Colne, admitted burglary and theft.
The defendant, who has served a three-year jail term for robbery, was given a community order with 12 months supervision and a six-month drug rehabilitation requirement. He must also pay £350 compensation.
Sentencing, the chairman told Morton: "The order is very very intensive. You will need to be on your toes."
The court was told after the break-in at Carlos on December 19, CCTV was viewed and police inquiries led to the defendant.
