A CHILDREN'S Arts Festival is being planned for the summer to encourage children and their families to take part in creative workshops to learn new skills.
Rossendale Leisure Trust and Rossendale Arts Alliance, a group of local artists, have teamed up to start planning for the forthcoming festival.
A celebration will be held on Bank Holiday Monday, August 28, at Rossendale Museum, Rawtenstall to bring all the participants together to celebrate their achievements and share their artistic experiences.
Gillian Smith, Rossendale Leisure Trust's arts development officer, has been working with Arts Alliance to secure £29,000, from the Arts Council and Rossendale Borough Council to deliver the festival.
She said: " The festival will be invaluable to promote local artists and arts-based facilities while encouraging children and their families to take part in interesting, creative workshops."
