A BABY boy escaped with minor injuries after falling out of a first floor window.
The one-year-old baby plunged to the ground in Montague Street, Blackburn, at 3.40pm yesterday.
He suffered a dislocated shoulder and dislocated wrist, and was taken to Blackburn Royal Infirmary, where he remained overnight.
His parents stayed by his bedside through the night, although his injuries were not believed to be life threatening.
His mother, who was at the house with the baby at the time of the accident, is Asian and does not speak English.
She will be interviewed through an interpreter later today.
Inspector Graham Ashcroft, of Lancashire Police, said: "The parents are with the little boy at the hospital.
"His injuries are serious, but not life threatening.
"A police officer and someone from social services are due to interview the mother today to ascertain how this happened," he added.
