A MOTORIST was twice the drink drive limit but claimed he had only had three pints, Burnley Magistrates heard.
Kevin Forrest, 22, was caught after police spotted him changing a wheel in the early hours and the jack collapsed.
Forrest, who had suffered a puncture after hitting the kerb, smelled of drink.
He later gave a test showing 72 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 mililitres of breath the legal limit is 35.
Forrest, of Hufling Court, Burnley, admitted driving with excess alcohol.
He was fined £200, banned for 20 months and must pay £50 costs.
The court heard Forrest told police he had had three pints of lager and had hit the pavement taking his girlfriend home.
He then told them that he did not think he would be over the limit.
