OFF work for Easter and stuck for something to do with the kids? The Lancashire Telegraph has the answer.

We’ve combed the area’s special events for the best things happening over the four days.

From Easter egg hunts, to the re-opening of a theme park and the traditional easter fair, there is something for everyone.

East Lancashire is set for a wet Easter weekend, with rain forecast across the three days.

However, temperatures could reach 10 degrees celsius.

So here are our top 10 ideas...

* All the fun of the fair is at Witton Country Park, Blackburn, every day from noon until 8pm, until Sunday, April 11. Strictly no alcohol.

* Celebrate tomorrow’s re-opening of the area’s only theme park – Camelot near Chorley. From jousting knights to a kids farm, there’s plenty for all the family to enjoy. Gates open at 10am. Family ticket for four, £68.

* One of our favourite hunts is the Friends of Chernobyl’s Children’s Easter Egg Treasure Hunt in the grounds of Clitheroe Castle on Saturday from 10am until 4pm. All children who correctly complete the trail will be entered into a prize draw with the chance to win a giant Easter egg. £1.50 per child, adults go free.

* Other egg-related activity includes an Easter Eggstravaganza at Witton Country Park in Blackburn (01254 55423), an Easter egg trail at Gawthorpe Hall in Padiham (outside weather permitting), on Sunday and Monday, from 1pm until 4pm, £1.50 per child and an Easter egg hunt with the park rangers at Towneley Park, Burnley, on Sunday, 2pm until 4pm.

* Experience a very old Good Friday tradition - the Pace Egg Play - in Todmorden town centre at 9.30am tomorrow. Performed every year by schoolboys, it’s a drama depicting the battle between good and evil, involving a colourful cast of characters including Saint George, Bold Slasher, The King of Egypt and The Doctor.

* Blackburn Cathedral has various services for Easter Sunday, starting with the dawn eucharist at 5.30am, sung by the Young People’s Choir, followed by a Champagne breakfast, communion at 8am, and the cathedral eucharist at 10.30am sung by the Cathedral Choir, with Bishop of Blackburn Nicholas Reade, including Handel’s Hallelujah, and evensong at 4pm.

* One great Easter tradition is the egg rolling event down the main drive at historic Hoghton Tower. It takes place on Sunday from 2pm until 4pm. Admission £3 per person to include egg-rolling, gardens and car parking.

* At the Boo in Waterfoot there’s a family Easter Bunny Ball. Dress up and join them for an Easter Bunny music and story event on Sunday from 3pm until 6pm, £5 per ticket.

* There are Easter chicks of a different kind at Thornton Hall Farm Country Park, near Barnoldswick where birds of prey – owls, hawks, falcons and eagles – will be giving spectacular flying displays on Monday from 10am until 4pm. The park also has a Great Wizzick Easter Egg Hunt on Sunday from 10am until 5pm.

* Crafty sorts will enjoy a session of puppet making Helmshore Textile Museum on Easter Monday.
