A NEW TV show filmed in Haslingden starring former Blue Peter presenter Anthea Turner is set to air next month.

BBC Three series, Anthea Turner: The Perfect Housewife, will be on TV screens in February.

It features the former Blue Peter star attempting to re-educate self-confessed incom-petent homemakers.

One episode will feature a Haslingden woman competing against a woman from Cheshire to become the perfect housewife.

Anthea caused a stir last month when she flew by helicopter to a landing pad on The Rosins car park at Pickup Bank, Darwen, before beginning filming.

The celebrity delighted staff at the country hotel and restaurant by nipping in to thank them for allowing her to land at the premises - leading to the manager saying he hoped the high-profile visit would put the business firmly on the map.

Anthea said: "We take two housewives who are not amazing in the home and I spend some time in their houses and they visit mine to try to turn them in to the perfect housewife."

She says it is important to have a well-run, comfortable and inviting home.
