A NEW project is putting Lancashire firmly on the information superhighway.
The Lancashire Server Project will establish the county as a major service station on the Internet over the next three years and enable firms to communicate with millions of computers around the world for the price of a local telephone call.
The project is being co-ordinated by Lancashire Enterprises, with funding from the county council and the European Union.
"We will be establishing an advanced communication structure which will give Lancashire a world lead," said county council leader Mrs Louise Ellman.
A public seminar is being staged at the University of Central Lancashire on December 12, to demonstrate the information superhighway. It will be held at the Harrington Building between 7.00pm and 9.00pm.
