LANCASHIRE'S strike-torn British Aerospace factories were boosted by a big new order today.

The German government announced plans to strengthen its airforce with 35 new tornado fighters at a cost of £1 billion.

They were to be assembled in Germany but 42 per cent of the work was to be done by BAe in Lancashire. The employees at the plants in the region had been on strike for almost a month over a pay claim.
