POLICE have warned people, particularly the elderly, to be on the look-out for two thieves posing as officials.
The men conned their way into the home of an elderly woman in the Hibson Road area of Nelson yesterday afternoon.
While one distracted the woman, the other stole her handbag. They both then left the house.
The men, who were carrying what appeared to be electrical equipment, said they were from Norweb.
The incident happened at 1pm. Police have appealed for anyone who saw the men to contact Colne CID on 01282 863161.
One of the men wore a blue coat and the other a grey coat.
