IF we thought we could relax once the Wild Mammals (Protection) Bill became law, we were sadly mistaken.

The cruel killing of two little hedgehogs, burned alive in Yorkshire recently, horrified many people and showed that it takes more than legislation to change human nature.

One of the surest ways to prevent this sort of brutality is to teach children to be kind. Another is to lead by example. People who take the trouble to help little hedgehogs are unlikely to do anything to hurt them.

Why not help by becoming a member of British Hedgehog Preservation Society?

For a very small annual fee (£5 for one person £10 for family/school/group, or £35 for life membership) you receive information leaflets about hedgehog care, and twice-yearly newsletters.
