A SELF-HELP group for single parents is starting on Atherton's Hag Fold estate.
Mother-of-two Heidi Davenport aims to set-up a Gingerbread group at the Dorset Road community centre and has organised starter meetings on Monday, June 3, 6-8 and Wednesday, June 5 (1-2.30).
She said: "I feel we need such a group on the estate to help one parent families. I am hoping both men and women will attend and we can assess the best time for future meetings. Children will obviously also be welcome."
Supportive Cllr Susan Loudon praised Heidi's efforts: "I hope as many people as possible will attend and find support from the other members of the group."
