I WAS not surprised to read in The Journal last week the advert for Wigan M.B.C. Leisure Department.
It seems the electorate of Leigh have to leave our town to take part in these activities, as the nearest one is Howe Bridge. Others include Atherton baths, Tyldesley swimming pool, two centres at Hindley, two centres at Wigan, the remainder at Ashton.
Possibly the Leigh councillors would be so kind as to explain through The Journal why they have let this situation arrive in the first place.
