WE would like to thank all the organisations and individuals in Blackburn and Darwen for their help and kindness shown to us during our year as Mayor and Mayoress.
We have been proud to witness some excellent work going on in the Borough, especially that targeted at the less fortunate. We were particularly impressed by the efforts of young people.
It was also good to see women's and community associations contributing so much to a successful year. International Women's Day, in particular, was a major success with all sections of our society participating.
It has been a privilege for us to serve as Mayor and Mayoress. There have been many highlights for us and we are appreciative of all the help and planning involved also all the letters and messages of support and thanks we have received.
