A SUPERFIT runner raised a mountain of money for the SuperScan Appeal when she had her first stab at the London Marathon.
And Blackburn chairman Terry Barber praised the individual achievement of Lisa Richardson, of Belper Street, Blackburn, who collected £510 from the race.
Lisa was wrestling with problems with her knees three weeks before the run and was concerned that she would be unable to complete the distance. But all went well on the day and she finished her first marathon in four hours and eight minutes.
Lisa, who trains with the Blackburn Road Runners and runs about 40 miles a week, said: "I found it the hardest at 16 miles, when I thought, 'Oh no, I still have another ten miles to run,' but it's the crowds that get you round."
