A COLOURFUL procession of floats, princesses and musicians took to the streets of Slyne outside Lancaster at the weekend to celebrate the annual gala.
Children decked out as policemen, bunnies, Indians and Paddington Bear all joined in the village festivities.
Visitors watched the momentous occasion as retiring gala Queen Kristina Rodowicz handed over her crown to the new Queen Claire Gill at the village Memorial Hall.
And in spite of the weather the gala included marching bands, pipe bands and even a dog contest.
