THE eye condition, glaucoma, accounts for 13 per cent of those on the blind register. Yet this is usually preventable if the disease is detected early.

During our annual Frog Week campaign For Relief Of Glaucoma, we want to alert as many people as possible to the fact that this condition gives no warning symptoms.

It is essential, therefore, that everyone over 40 (or earlier if there is glaucoma in the family) asks specifically for all three glaucoma tests to be carried out the next time they visit the optician for a sight test.

Anyone wishing to know more should send a 9ins x7ins sae with 38p stamp to IGA, King's College Hospital, Denmark Hill, London SE5 9RS.
