A REMARKABLE performance by Nisarahmed Noray saw the 32-year-old smash the Blackburn Amateur Cricket League bowling record by claiming 10 wickets for just five runs for Limefield against Muslim CC.
Incredibly, eight of his victims were clean bowled while the other two were out leg before wicket.
And his magnificent haul included a hat-trick.
Noray's figures of 11-6-10-5 broke the seven-year-old record of Hanif Manjra who took 10 wickets for 17 runs in a match between Millham and Mill Hill in 1989. "It didn't sink in until I arrived home and thought to myself, 'What have I done?'" said Noray, a right arm medium pacer.
"It's fantastic to have done it and this day will live long in the memory."
The Blackburn Amateur Cricket League has been in existence since 1895. Records have been kept since 1973.
"It's an outstanding achievement and I don't think this particular record will ever be broken," said match secretary John Waddicor.
