WITH reference to the "Jason Wilcox signs to the crowd incident" the fault lies with the manager who keeps selecting a player obviously out of form and who, with any other club, would be dropped to play in the reserves.

The player is aware of the crowd's opinions and, already frustrated by his own display, reacts as Wilcox did.

The Rovers have always been reluctant to promote younger reserve team players to replace established first teamers suffering a loss of form - hardly morale-boosting for an eager youngster trying to break through.

Manager of the present problems are caused by players feeling too sure of their place in the team. Competition for places and a little insecurity would increase the players' effort and cure their "loss of form."
