REGARDING S Adams's comments referring to Jack Walker and my work with the Christian charity International Aid Trust, the two are worlds apart, though could be brought together.

I, too, feel Mr Walker should have the Freedom of the Borough and an appropriate award, such as a knighthood. I am sorry it upset Mr Adam that I feel we should help people who are poorer than our own, who have no access to basic medical care, housing, education, etc.

He says I should remember that charity begins at home. Well, I do - I care and work for the elderly, I have worked at a soup kitchen for five years, raised hundreds of pounds for the homeless and looked after many needy families.

Please don't patronise me - and remember: Love thy neighbour!
