A CONTRACT in Russia worth £2.25 million has been won by Lancashire Enterprises.
The contract, financed by the European Union, is to develop a network of business support agencies throughout Russia.
Advisors from Lancashire Enterprises have started work on the two-year contract, which involves extensive training programmes for Russian development agency staff.
"This is a fascinating challenge for our company," said David Taylor, chief executive of Lancashire Enterprises.
"We have undertaken extensive economic development contracts throughout Central and Eastern Europe in recent years and our success in winning this contract is a major boost for the company."
The main aim of the project is to improve the performance of the Russian development agencies and to help establish four new agencies, three in North-West Russia and one in Irkutsk in Siberia.
