COUNCILLOR Mike Doyle will succeed Dave Watts as the new leader of St Helens Council.
Coun Doyle, who represents Rainhill, has been deputy leader for the past four years and will replace Dave, who stepped down after becoming MP for St Helens North. Councillor Austin Whiteside, who represents Windle, will become deputy leader.
