SIX local pubs have been awarded the 'Investor in People' Standard.

The Grapes, St Helens Road, Eccleston Park; the Royal Oak, Eccleston; the Griffin, Bold Heath; the Ship Inn, Rainhill; the Griffin, Eccleston; and the Waterside, Carr Mill, all achieved the award - which recognises commitment to the training and development of staff - through Greenalls Pubs & Restaurants. "We are all absolutely delighted to have achieved this recognition," says David Russell, of Greenalls. "As a company we have always believed in the importance of the training and development of our staff to enable them to deliver the quality of service which our customers expect. The Investor in People Standard requires a commitment to excellence from everyone and it is therefore a magnificent team achievement."
