NORTH West Water are inviting members of the public to call in at their mobile visitor centre when it visits Blackbrook on Monday, July 14 and Thursday, August 14, with details of a £950,000 mains rehabilitation scheme.
Located at the Ship Inn, the mobile centre will have as its theme 'The Hidden World of Water' featuring displays explaining to customers the workings of the water mains network and the work being undertaken to improve it. It also has multi-media displays and illuminated pipework models to demonstrate how water travels to households.
Local residents can find out more about the scheme which involves refurbishing 15 kms of old cast-iron mains in Haydock. The work will improve the quality and reliability of supplies to 2,100 properties in the area.
North West Water's divisional services director Bob Armstrong said: "The visitor centre will show customers how and why we are investing money in replacing our mains system in their area, and the benefits they will gain from the improvements taking place beneath their streets."
