A STUDENT from Burnley who came up with an award-winning design for a CD holder could get her big break next week.

Elaine Boyle, 22, whose talents have just won her £1,000, is showing off her blueprint at the New Designers exhibition in London.

If she's lucky enough to be picked out, her design could be mass produced.

Elaine is studying at Liverpool Hope University College and she won the city's Royal Liver Assurance bursary for special achiev- ement.

"I'm hoping for my big break in London next week," said Elaine. "There will be about 80,000 students exhibiting in the show so competition is really tough. But I'm sure that this win will help my chances."

The £1,000 will help pay for a course in computer-aided design to supplement her studies.
