WEDDING bells are in the air for Fylde funnyman Tom Bright who proposed to girlfriend Diane Lee Carol in front of 600 people.

Tom got down on one knee at the end of Saturday's Mystique show (July 5) at the Pleasure Beach in which the couple both star.

Now, he is promising his true love a wedding to remember in October.

Tom told the Citizen: "She had no idea I was going to ask her and it felt like two months while I waited for her answer because all you could hear was the audience cheering.

"As soon as she said yes the sound man started playing There May Be Trouble Ahead.

"Then when the curtain went down I was told people were crying and saying how romantic it all was."

The couple have been together for four years and have a two-year-old daughter Samantha.

"We talked about marriage generally as many couples do, but nothing definite," said Tom.

"I proposed in the Horseshoe Bar because this is the first time we have worked together in Mystique and it is special for us."

The location of the wedding is being kept a closely-guarded secret although Tom revealed it will be at midnight on a Sunday in a very special place.

"We wanted to do something unusual and let everyone have a really big bash to celebrate," he said.

Tom also claims he intended to make Diane his wife before he had even met her, explaining: "I went to see a show with a friend and in the bar I saw her across the room.

"I said to my friend: 'See that girl over there? I'm going to marry her some day.'

"It turned out he knew her and we developed a working relationship which blossomed from there."

Now he can hardly wait for his big day and added: "Diane is such great fun and I love her very much."
