CONCERNING Sam Spence's remarks (Letters, September 15), I live in the same area of Blackburn and over the past two to three years it has become like a ghetto. I have relatives due to visit from Australia and I dread to think what they will think about my living in such an area.
It's not just the council which needs to do more, but the people who live in these houses.
Prospective buyers are deterred by the scruffiness.
It's time people got a real shock and pulled their socks up. They are young enough to be houseproud.
