FYLDE may be set to get its long-awaited service station with a proposed site on the M55. Up to 150 permanent jobs would be created if planning permission is granted.
An outline planning application has been lodged by Hallam Land Management with Fylde Borough Council for a 100-acre site serving both carriageways of the motorway at Treales.
The two sides of the motorway will be practically identical with shops and a self-service restaurant forming the main body of the services.
There will be a 60-room travel lodge and separate parking for cars, coaches and lorries, a filling station and picnic areas.
Last year, planning permission was refused for a similar site at Greenhalgh because of the lack of an environmental assessment.
