REGARDING your article about Ward 5 at Blackburn Infirmary, (LET, December 27).
Having recently been a patient there, I feel your comments about nursing care and standards were unjust.
The nurses and the doctors went out of their way to provide me with kindness and care.
Their only problem is that they need more staff for the number of patients.
I found their skills and kindness were first-class and could not be faulted in any way.
P A HOLDEN, Peter Street, Blackburn.
FOOTNOTE: We were not criticising the nurses. We were merely reporting the findings of a special investigation set up by the hospital trust. The comments reported were made by the trust's director of nursing and quality, Mr Richard Gildert - Editor.
