SPEEDING motorists are still risking villagers' safety despite new Traffic calming measures on a village road, says a parish councillor.
Further moves to beat rogue drivers on the B5256 Sandy Lane, Brindle, will be discussed at a parish council meeting on Monday night.
Traffic calming measures have recently been put in place on the road to deter motorists who speed through the village.
But parish council chairman Joan Croasdale said: "There is still a problem with drivers speeding, and even overtaking, through the village. The problem is catching these people."
"The police have been very supportive and they backed our suggestions for traffic calming, but unless there are sufficient police officers around to enforce the speed limit then these drivers will carry on."
