WOMEN still get a raw deal in the workplace according to St Helens TUC.

And a special event entitled 'Women Deserve Better' is being staged in Church Square on Tuesday, March 10 as part of International Women's Week.

Glen Voris, secretary of St Helens TUC, said: "Low pay and part-time work particularly affects women as they receive on average a third less wages than men." A campaign bus staffed by trade union members will be in Church Square between 1.30 and 4.30pm on Tuesday, March 10 to speak to women about issues affecting them.More details from St Helens TUC Community Resource Centre on 755889, Monday to Friday between 10am and 8pm.
