BACUP Borough manager Brent Peters has tempted teenage sensation Nicky Taylor to join the revolution currently gathering pace at West View.

Peters has snapped up the 16-year-old midfielder on a YTS basis from North Western Trains League neighbours Rossendale United and the youngster has made an immediate impact.

His performance as a second half substitute in a 2-0 friendly defeat against Bury prompted Shakers manager Neil Warnock to offer Bacup's new boy wonder YTS terms.

But Taylor, who made his NWTL debut at the age of 16 with Dale last year, has opted to honour his agreement with Peters who has also fixed him up with a job as a football coach.

"He looks a very exciting prospect and we are delighted to have brought him to Bacup Borough," said Peters. Meanwhile, 'Dale manager Micky Graham is hoping to bring experienced midfielder Neil Perry back to Dark Lane.

Perry quit the club towards the end of last season after moving to the Wirral but the pair are currently in talks about a possible return.

Graham is also hoping to bring in a forward this week to replace last season's top scorer Paul Thompson who has joined neighbours Ramsbottom United.

Rossendale continue their pre-season build up with a game against Darwen at the Anchor tonight.

Darwen boss Steve Wilkes will be without last season's top scorer Denny khan who has torn a hamstring and is likely to miss the big kick off on August 18. Bacup will not now entertain Feniscowles at West View tonight. New recruits Paul Lyons and Scott Given had been expected to play.

Great Harwood Town continue their busy pre-season with a visit to Fleetwood Freeport (kick-off 7.30pm).

Clitheroe manager Dennis Underwood includes former Haslingden keeper John Parrot in his squad who entertain Leigh at Shawbridge after John Morrey's shock decision to quit the Blues because of work commitments.

And Ian Cain could make a welcome return to action for Chorley who travel to Skelmersdale United after recovering from a cartilage operation.

Accrington Stanley Reserves visit Haslingden St Mary's - all have 7.30pm kick-offs.

Great Harwood's match with Ramsbottom United at The Showground last night was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.
