AUDITORS were called in to investigate "major problems" behind the axing of an East Lancashire factory and 200 jobs.

Blackburn MP Jack Straw demanded an explanation of a holding company's "disgraceful" closure of Premier Building Systems at Whitebirk.

His comments came as management of AAF Industries revealed they had asked auditors KMPG Peat Marwick to investigate claims of price-cutting to win orders.
