REGARDING the remarks of Ian Davies (Letters, July 31), he is obviously not aware of the true facts about Blackburn Town Hall's housing department.
They do not evict decent tenants. In fact, it takes them all their time to evict the bad ones. So why his friend is on the streets must be his own fault. If, as he says, he was a good tenant, they would have offered him a house or flat.
As for the Mill Hill flats, who wrecked the blocks? - not the town hall but bad tenants themselves. It is not so many years ago that they did those blocks up, spending thousands of pounds of taxpayers' money.
The Queen's Park flats were also a decent block of flats with decent tenants. Then, bad ones were let in and the rot set in and soon the block went downhill.
It did not take them long to wreck the blocks. Never ever have I seen good flats reduced to slum property like these were.
The blocks at Larkhill are going the same way.
Again the town hall spent thousands doing up the building, only for them to be brought to ruin by a bunch of bad tenants who do not respect the place they live in and do not care for their neighbours.
