TESTS are being carried out in an effort to find out what killed 21-year-old John Bradley.

Mr Bradley died in hospital on Friday, five days after being found collapsed in the house in Chipping Grove, Burnley, which he shared with his grandmother. He never regained consciousness.

His family found him in the kitchen on Sunday, July 26, an inquest at Burnley was told.

John Cheetham, of Todmorden Road, Burnley, said his nephew last worked as a labourer and as far as he knew was very fit.

He had been involved in drugs and his mother had told him police found silver paper used in drugs when they carried out a raid in connection with shoplifting.

The inquest heard John had been in prison at Lancaster Farm.

Mr Cheetham said John had access to a variety of illegal drugs but he didn't know where they came from.

On Saturday, July 25, his mother and nephew Paul stayed at his house overnight because they couldn't get into the house in Chipping Grove.

The next day they found John collapsed on the kitchen floor. He was taken to Burnley General Hospital where he died last Friday.

Adjourning the inquest until the results of toxicology tests are known, East Lancashire Coroner David Smith said nothing natural had been found which could have caused his death.
