NORBRECK Primary is celebrating record-breaking sporting success.

At a recent swimming gala at Moor Park, the Year 5 boys team broke Arnold School's three year stranglehold on the relay title and smashed the longstanding record by five seconds with a winning time of one minute, 13 seconds.

Meanwhile, the boys football team demolished the opposition to take the town's north league by a clear eight points.

Headteacher Ray Fisher said: "I am extremely proud of the dedication and sportsmanship displayed by our pupils.

"The swimming and football teams have achieved so much this year and it is a credit to them and the staff who have put so much time and effort into achieving such success."
