WENDY Hobson wants your time! Wendy runs Blackburn Partnership's employee involvement project which aims to match up needs in the community with willing volunteers.
Help can range from donating unwanted office furniture to a full scale refurbishment of a community facility.
"We are always looking for companies interested in getting involved with community projects," said Wendy.
"We can match employees up with suitable projects however large or small."
The project is also looking for help from businesses willing to offer special deals to local voluntary organisations and charities.
For example, the Apollo Five Cinema in Blackburn recently have a group of 40 children and mothers from the Women's Aid Hostel and the NSPCC
Current challenges looking for volunteers include:
A team is needed to create a garden in front of a community centre.
A support group helping with asthma needs a donation of stationery.
A group of employees is needed to paint the main hall and coffee bar at a local community centre.
A team with DIY skills is needed to supply and fit kitchen units at a local women's centre.
The employee involvement project can be contacted on 01254 661166.
